I went on Monday. Martin went today. With Divy {and his ex-wife}.

Yesterday skiing at Solitude was sunshine and smiles

& afterwards we drove home to get Fritz

& take him on a hike to the Church of Dirt

on the way up Divy stepped near the edge of the huge snow overhang called a couloir
 & just after I took this photo, Martin told him "Stay away from the edge".
Less than 2 seconds later it snapped and Divy dropped 2 meters on to his back on the snow below on Guardsman Pass. 

He had the air knocked out of him and a headache after but was otherwise ok. So lucky.

Paradise

Paradise {at a price}

Today the avalanche danger was low

but only if the sun didn't come out to warm the new 6" of snow 

but guess what happened?

The 6" of new dry snow became wet and slide easily on the slick underlying snow. 

 Divy was caught but not carried and luckily no one was hurt. Right before we went through the cathedral cirque gate, Martin had us all check our beacons for both battery power and activation. He must have known...

Since I worked at our Sugarhouse location today, I walked over to Spoons N Spice during lunch to use my 20% coupon and buy a new pizza stone

After work and haircuts Martin tried it out and the pizza was delisciouso...
