The new playground at the farm



The boys discovered a new playground today! It was on our way home from yet another snow cone run and Markus spotted it. Even though it was 95 outside, they still wanted to stay and play for over an hour.

I had lunch today with the girls for Olivia's birthday. She also invited me to "The Help" last night with she and her mom, Bonnie, her daughter Maddie, and her sisters Naomi and Rosanne. We all were laughing and crying throughout the whole thing, even though we had already read the book and knew what was coming, it was really well done. Good acting, great directing and a very compelling script.

Oh, Molly!!!

Markus decided to try and dress Molly up today after swimming. He put Max's t-shirt, Morgen's boxers and his build-a-bear army helmet on Molly and she actually left it all on...for a few seconds anyways. Crazy boys. What will they think of next?

Amanda's Pool Party

My student Amanda invited me to her pool party for all her skating friends tonight. The lady that she lives with now has a neighborhood pool and they decided to have a summer swimming party. The water was warm (~95 degrees) and the girls weren't the only ones having a good time. 

Morgen, Max and Markus were joining right in the games

Morgen didn't want to come but then after we got there, he didn't want to leave.

He had some girls that were trying to push him in the pool

And they were doing skating tricks while jumping into the pool.

Two of the girls requested to be his friend on Facebook after the party was over.

Coach Volker held a benefit game tonight

The Flying Penguins vs. Park City Bantams

It was a great game for a great cause

Volker's niece has cancer so he organized this event to raise money to help fight it

He had a bunch of bread there for everyone from his bakery after the game.

I think everyone from the Flying Penguins had a great time playing tonight, especially since they won the game 6-5.

Sixteen

Sixteen years ago today, a baby boy was born weighing 6 pounds, 11 ounces and 19 1/2 inches long. It was the day my son and I were born.

Licensed to Drive

At least a go-cart that is!

He just finished driver's ed and will take the driving portion of the class on Tuesday

Then he will be licensed to drive.

So watch out world!

Morgen, Alex and Will are all old enough to drive now! Yikes!

Cowabunga. For free? The boys' dentist rented it out for the night and provided a patient appreciation night, complete with prizes, pizza and drinks. Thanks Dr. B!

Captured this photo after the boys finished playing capture the flag. Just before they started into kick the can. They have done this just about every night since summer began eight weeks ago. They just keep playing, and playing and playing, night after night - it never gets old.

Max invited Che over to play after I taught him at skating today. He is a great little hockey player and gets along great with both Max and Markus. He "Hung Out", quite literally, with them tonight as they went to a trial gymnastics class. They all said that it was really hard but fun and they would like to do it again. Che ended up spending the night and going to the hockey clinic the next day with the boys and then Che invited them over to his house to play roller hockey and slide on the big inflatable slide that his family had rented for his little sisters birthday party. They had a great time and didn't want to leave. Che plays for the Jr. Grizzlies and is trying to get Max to come and play for his team this year. But they already held the tryouts last spring and I don't really feel like paying the coaches $1500 for Max to play hockey. So I think Max is going to stick with what he did last year. 

Rainy Monday

After Markus finished his tennis class this morning, he rode his bike with me on my run. As soon as we walked through the door, it started to pour! Max doesn't care what the weather is, he just wants to play outside, so he went out to jump on the tramp in the rain. Markus of course joined him and they laughed until they were too cold to jump anymore.
