Sister Missionaries

{Primary Missionaries}

The sister missionaries came in to do sharing time for me today in Primary. All the children were excited to get their own little missionary badges, except for one. Ha! Little Gabe didn't want anything to do with it. lol

Cubs

Markus playing second base at tonights' game.
Max is playing on the Cubs this year for Liberty League. He didn't think he would be able to play since he is on a super league team, The Tribe, but there are three other boys from the team that are doing both and so he asked me to sign him up. His coach understands that he may not be there for all the games but he told me that he was just glad to have Max on the team. And Max loves playing on the Cubs, his favorite MLB team. :)

Red Cliffs

There is a beautiful hike, that we did on the way home from St. George that was so worth the time it added to the trip.

Happy Easter

Some "majestic" eggs courtesy of Max and Markus. lol

I found this quote the other other day and have been thinking about it:

"The purpose of the task is to improve the relationship."

It has made such a difference in how I approach each task, each day. No official authorities have confirmed this, but I think it is helping me be a better mom.

When I picked up little mister 9 from school I turned off my audio book and listened. Because the purpose of the task is to strengthen the relationship.

When my 12 year old needed help with his book report, I chose my advice and words with greater care. Because the purpose of the task is to strengthen the relationship.

When my teenager asked me to run him to Del Taco, because he didn't want to use his own car to save gas, I laughed with him and looked at it as more time to talk. Because the purpose of the task is to strengthen the relationship.

When I took my same teenager to his counselor, I tried to let him do more of the talking and was in absolutely no hurry. Because the purpose of the task is to strengthen the relationship.

When Markus invited me to watch the Muppets movie with him earlier, I did not bring my planner along and try to do 10 things at once. I snuggled in the blankets with him and just watched. Because the purpose of the task is to strengthen the relationship.

When my boys wanted to color eggs today before going to Aunt Marilee's house for dinner, I let them start right in. Because the purpose of the task is to strengthen the relationship.

For me, this thought has changed everything.

Sunny St. George

Max is playing in a baseball tournament today and tomorrow. It was supposedly in St. George but as it turns out all the games are in Mesquite. His first game today, the Tribe lost to Dixie, 11-3 and he played right field for three innings and was on the bench for three. He struck out swinging when he was up to bat.

Second game of the double header is versus the Elko Gold team and the Tribe is winning 5-0. Max walked his first up to bat and scored a run. He is playing second base and got an out at first. Now he's playing left field the sun is shining and it's 78 degrees.

I brought my bike down with me and Pierce's mom, who drove down with me yesterday, has her husband, Dewey, bringing her bike down today so we can ride later on. It's pretty windy but I still think it will be fun.
