Awards Night

The Youth Hockey League Awards night was tonight and Max and Markus had a great time skating with all their friends from the league and getting awards, who doesn't love that? It was very crowded but we still had a blast playing a competitive game of tag. Somehow Markus always got me. Hmmmm! lol   

Final Game of The Season

Markus had his final game for his terriers team today. He and his team played well and he was tripped on a breakaway. The refs were trying to decide if they should give him a penalty shot or not and in the end didn't. The kings won 3-1. Final game for Max was going on at the same time and he helped his team win 9-0 with a goal and two assists.

What a great season for both Terriers teams!

Fire On Ice

Markus played his last home game today and helped his team win versus the Fighting Irish 4-3.

Max also played his last home game and was on fire! He helped his team defeat the black hawks 13-2 and had a hat trick and two assists. His whole team played great and his friend Dillon scored a goal from the redline. Way to go Terriers!

Three Games Today

Max had two

First game vs. the Black Bears was a close one but with less than two seconds on the clock, Max scored the game winning goal 6-5.

Next game for Max was vs. Team Wyoming girls under 14. The girls were aggressive and tied our lightning boys 3-3.

Markus scored one from the blue line to help his team defeat the Broncos 4-3. I wish I could have seen his celebration afterwards. :)

Snow World

Snow boarding tonight with my cute Max and Markus is so much fun. We can't stop smiling!!! :)

Markus' Wolf

Markus was so excited to go to the Blue and Gold Banquet last night that he even skipped his Lightning practice to go! He received his "Wolf" rank advancement and was in three skits as part of the celebration. I still took Max up for his practice and came back to watch the last few minutes of it. I read a story a while ago and was just reminded of it tonight as Markus was getting his "Wolf".

The Story of Two Wolves

An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life.



“A fight is going on inside me,” he told the young boy, “a terrible fight between two wolves. One is evil, full of anger, sorrow, regret, greed, self-pity and false pride. The other is good, full of joy, peace, love, humility, kindness and faith.”

“This same fight is going on inside of you, grandson…and inside of every other person on this earth.”

The grandson ponders this for a moment and then asks, “Grandfather, which wolf will win?”

The old man smiled and simply said,

“The one you feed.”

That Works

Morgen was working tonight and Markus went to his friends house for a late over so Max and I went to visit Morgen at work. He didn't acknowledge Max at all and I went over to his work station to say hi or he probably wouldn't have talked to me either. The place was packed and he was busy clearing tables and filling up chip baskets. It was kind of fun to see him in action. He really likes the people he works for and the money pays for his car so it works.

Sledding

There was patchy snow at best today but the boys didn't seem to mind. They still were so excited to go sledding. It was kind of crowded so I guess at least a few other people felt the same way. A little bit of snow is better than no snow.

It was a beautiful day.

Markus + Birthday Party = Fun

Markus' birthday was on Wednesday but since Max had a game vs. Park City he waited to have his party tonight. He invited a few of his hockey friends over to play Shinny and eat pizza and cake. They are giggling the night away. Lol

Idaho Fell

Max's Lightning team played the Idaho falls black team today and won in a shoot out! 2-1. Way to go Lightning!

Shinny Tournament

How do you play Shinny? With 15 sweaty boys in a conference room! Lol Max's lightning team is spending the afternoon playing shinny hockey at the hotel and watching the Miracle movie.

H.O.C.K.E.Y.

Temple View

Went for a walk along the river today after the game with Stuart's mom, Kim. We thought it was a 4.2 mile walk - as it turns out it - it was actually 8.4 round trip. It was beautiful to see the temple right behind the falls.
