As you know, the best course of action to take when your backcountry bike trip gets cancelled due to the storm of the century, is to unplug, take a time-out. Yet, when we're trying, and failing, to pass that test, or the clinic is short staffed, or we're writing email after email of profoundly meaningless material, and we've got a big chair position looming in the not-so-distant future, we tend to push harder, overanalyze, get self-critical. Meanwhile, success comes from being in the flow, not forcing it until it breaks.
To Have a Beautiful Day
An excerpt from the handwritten birthday card he gave me for my 50th:
Given that we likely by now have splashed in puddles
& eaten romantic dinners
Thank you for making my day...
lovely, easier, erotic, exciting, full of smiles, sexy, stimulating, thoughtful, erratic, new, short, long, never boring, forcing romantic sunsets on me, skiing, looking forward to, tasteful, charming, heart throbbing, restless, work-life-balance-overloaded...and all while having me as your sidekick! Yours, Martin ~
Spread sunshine wherever they go. Martin is is one of these special people....
