3. Booked a night at a California hotel that won't cost a fortune (it will be the most expensive week in the year, with the Disneyland day.)

(Literally, from Skip going on the family room floor sometime during the night, to waking up to a puddle of toilet water from it leaking all night, all over the carpet in the hallway and into Max's room...)
