Blankets

1. My friend's voice on the phone.
2. My son's voices on the phone.
3. My sisters' voices on the phone.

Oh, and Murray's blanket supplier surprised me with a dozen senior blankets... six weeks early! A first in my books.

WHL

1. Garlic was oozing out of my body all day. This was very good because it kept the winter flu at bay (as well as everyone and everything else).
2. I made significant progress in my workout. Shoutout to my trainer. You can love a body this much!
3. *Late night news alert!* One of the absolutely coolest people I know got invited to a WHL combine on Saturday - after his surprise scouting! I was wondering how it would unfold... no razzmatazz, no pageantry. I couldn't be happier. Congratulations!

Lottery

Shis happens every day, but the more I think about good things, the harder it is to narrow them down. Like today:

1. I left the house on time for lunch (even if I had to call a repairman).
2. I listened to the yummiest song ever: Done With Love by Zedd (possibly a collaboration).
3. I received an email: Little Red Lottery - I got in again! (now accepting rider submissions).

I Ran

1. I ran like thunder!
2. Enjoyed some eye candy at the gym.
3. The Winco store let me take my groceries debit since they don't take Visa.

Tires

First,
• ordered from walmart.com; took a month to come in.
Second,
• wait for three hours at low temperatures in the store, only to find out they were the wrong size.
Third,
• indulged in help, tires installed that are the right size!

Friday

1. Friday has arrived. I've got nothing against that.
2. The baby is out. I've got nothing against that either!
3. I'm having a good hair day, all things considered.

Stronger

I'm not sure exactly how it happened, but Markus played against a high school team last night. Shoot away!

See, he has grown a bit! (Don't get me wrong. I love my son, but he still has some growing up to do before he leaves next year.)

Titans

1. Precious time to Bless this Mess. I did a Nurse Nelly and took my skills on an offensive. Pre-Eclampsia, be gone!
2. An old friend asked me to help set up extra practices for the playoffs.
3. I discovered that Live Barn now has an archive section. Live Casts blow me away. Global hockey and skating streaming into my phone wherever I go... we're all Citizens of the World, you know what I mean?

Sophie

1. A cool dude (all of forty-one years old) flirted with me on the date: sang, danced, mimicked me, teased me furiously. It was hilarious.
2. I watched a movie off the Internet. Was this good? Well, yes, it was good that I didn't have to pay $10 to see it at the theatre.
3. In my search to find out who else out there is doing online dating I hit the jackpot. Check out the list above. (I'm now deleting my Match account, by whatever name.)

Lake Effect

People almost died. I ran late. I saw a movie I really liked. It all paled by comparison to this weekend's many, many charms!

1. I took notice of myself smiling at someone today. No reason.
2. Lake Effect: jeans, fur vests, friends, love. It bears repeating how totally radical and splendiferous this surprise meeting was.
3. Coming home to an empty fridge after a night shift sucks. My lovely son shared his pizza slice with me at 3pm.

Digital

1. I had a few minutes in the #1 spot on match.com. The Internet is such a strange place.
2. My sister called me to ask how I'm doing.
3. I finished the final assignment for my recent day of work. TIME TO PARTAY!

Thanks for your clicks, all y'all!

Speed

1. A tiny little girl with big eyes smiled up at me from her baby bassinet.
2. I learned to drink hot chocolate with coffee ('think chocolate mocha,' Whit said).
3. Markus also told me that at practice he was flying by more than the speed skaters.

Running

1. One afternoon, two beautiful sons, one of them learning to drive.
2. Mission accomplished: Skip is walking instead of pulling. Go, Petco!
3. Running - I do mean running - all my errands.

Feather Beds

1. Exceptional night out with the "girls".
2. Lunch - and then dinner - at the house.
3. Continuing Ed: More lessons in the world of rap and music culture learned. Bro, you're sick, but you didn't know "Grandma's Feather Bed" by John Denver!

"- the surest way to be happy is to seek happiness for others." ~ MLK, Jr.

It's only lunchtime, but it's been a good day. If anything spectacular happens by tomorrow, I'll just have to include a bonus post, won't I?

1. Breakfast: *hot* and delicious blueberry muffins, 5:15 am, on a request from Skip - to go *outside*, yessss!
2. Chat: did a little pleasant catch-up with Markus about his tournament, then my mom texted to say she loved me.
3. Dollars: I purchased a gift card for Steve for doing the posters - and I dropped off a jersey to be framed!

Memorable

Today's lesson: not to post until bedtime. I was writing earlier in the day, but it was too soon to tell. There was a negative edge when in fact good things were yet to come.

1. I celebrated my day off. What a treat!
2. I went for a walk after my massage and found myself in a cemetery! With three deer!
3. President Monson generously shared his time and life in service, his funeral was on Friday, so imagine my surprise when I found myself at his grave site service and I savored a much-needed spiritual snack. Check out his good work at his funeral tribute.

Pretty Kitty

A Californian, a New Yorker and a Utahn walk into a bar... no, no, no - not like that.

1. A California movie producer sat down next to me on a stool at Prohibition. The restaurant side is full, so I browse the array of international eateries and finally decide on the Mob Cob.
2. He engages in interesting conversation all evening.
3. I marvel at the postmodern world we live in.

9pm EST. Last night surely deserves a bonus, post scriptum:
4. He produced Pretty Woman.

GNO

1. I had a massage for the first time in a year. I forgot how good it feels.
2. Last night, with tummies full of taco soup, we (a small girl's night out group) talked and drank tea together.
3. Everything today was serendipitously timed. Don't you love when that happens?

Global Warming

This week was going swimmingly until my heart suddenly sank. It's been hard to shake the images of California drowning in mud. I could list Three Bad Things a day, too. But one reason for Three Good Things is to get through days like these. I learned my lessons. Tomorrow is a new day.

1. My sister came to my aid with glass vases and flowers for my interior decorating.
2. Another trip to the hairdresser for a drive-through-color (and then I wash at home), I grow ever so slightly assured that the Earth is melting away into an eternal summer.
3. Spring is here - in Max's world. He didn't have to evacuate this time.

And this dude flew out to a tournament in Colorado today.

Word: Positivity

Some good on a dreary winter Wednesday:

1. Having one of those skinny-waisted-feeling kind of days.
2. Imagining walking to my car after a night shift as a warm Caribbean stroll.
3. "Report Card" the online version with Morgen - with glee!

My word of the year is positivity.

Good Vibes

1. Three venues: a Kokopelli coffee house for meeting, an upstairs lounge for meditation and a neighborhood cafe for chips and guac.
2. Three flavors: hot mocha in two small glasses, topped with two lids, served with care.
3. Three people: Kevin, me and Monet, with three plates at the table, in discussion, relaxation and digestion!

Nice

1. Better than bad: naughty thoughts about someone nice.
2. Celebration: Tim's giving the banners to the seniors now instead of at the end of the year banquet.
3. Pay: I learned that Match is the place where my boss found her husband. She talked me in to trying it out. Well, I did, although I'm not willing to pay to meet men!

Fifth Anniversary

Happy Anniversary, to me! Five years already. Thanks for journeying with me as I raise my nursing skills. I look forward to continued growth and knowledge. Twenty more to go.

New Year

Same Us
Three good things happened to me today. Three good things will happen to me every day this year. Photos from our Happy New Year bowling session!

1. I woke up at noon really well rested.
2. I finally completed a Christmas take down project (my procrastination had known no bounds).
3. I got a strangely pleasant feeling about my word of the year, more on this later.

More

... more work (On Call Shift).
1. More service (thanks, President Monson).
2. More uncovering long-missing clothing whilst cleaning.
3. More dancing opportunities for yours tired, truly.

Unforgettable

An honorable mention from yesterday:

A. Steve and his man, RJ made nine legendary banners for high school hockey
B. after I picked up beautiful flowers for the moms
C. followed by balloons (orange and black, that is, for senior night).
...I'm off to work (two nights followed by a day).

Flight Out

1. Supercali: two people missing each other.
2. Supergood: two natural childbirths in a row.
3. Superberries: two smoothies resting in the fridge, waiting.

Juice

We were pounded by a baby storm. That was fine. But my lunch bag was empty and nothing in the hospital was open. Except the nutrition room.

1. Graham Crackers (surprisingly natural)
2. Peanut Butter (quite healthy, actually)
3. 100% orange juice (the only juice I like)

Foodgroups in themselves, really.

Magic

365 Days. 370 Posts. I blogged right into the New Year. Looking back, a surprisingly good year. Coincidence?

Things I learned in 2017:
1. Ask and Ye shall receive.

2. Whosoever giveth taketh in return.

3. Rescue dogs are a magic force of positive institutional, social and physical change!

Thank you for sharing my year of Good Things.
