Teaching

I was trying to cut music for some of my students today, since most of them are getting new programs for the Winter Games competition that is coming up. Every CD that I burned however, would not play afterwards. Argh! I finally figured out it was the whole pack of Memorex Lightscribe CD's that I bought and had to take them back. The new brand (Verbatim) works great and I finished up the rest of the music in no time. Now, to choreograph their routines...

I really enjoy all of my students that I am teaching right now. I teach Emmie & Eliza, Coleton & Clayton, Keb, Sophia, Amanda, Callie, 2 learn to skate classes, Roberto, Emmie & Evie, Amelie, Gabe, Emily, Ava, Jake, Kyle, Wyatt, Garrett, Owen, McKay, Whitney, Jayden, Kate (every other week), Leslie and Marianna. I keep meaning to take a photo of them, but forget to take my camera when I am teaching or just forget to use it if I have it with me. Maybe this week I can remember. :)

Playoffs

Max had a great tournament and really wished that his team could have won their game this morning, but, it is what it is.

I was talking to some of the hockey moms that were at the rink this morning at 6 a.m. in Ogden and saying that there would barely be enough time in between games for a quick bite to eat. I was totally planning on the Lightning winning the first playoff game since they had already beat the Jr. Wildcats team on Friday. Guess I learned my lesson....the Jr. Wildcats won by one point in a very exciting game. I only remembered to take one photo, I was too engrossed in the game. Afterwards on the way home, I was asking Max if he had fun and he said, "Yeah, but it would have been more fun if we had won." It was a great showing of the Lightning team in their first tournament of the season.

Victory! The whole team went over to celebrate with the goalie after they beat the Jr. Wildcats 3 - 1. The next game was in Bountiful against the Idaho Falls Eagles black team. Which they also won in a total shut out, 20 - 0.

City Championships

Morgen started in the City Championships today for Pokemon. The tournament was held down in Payson, so after Max's game in Ogden this morning, I drove Morgen down to Payson. Then as soon as he finished, he won two games and lost two, we cruised back up to Bountiful for the next game of Max's tournament. I was driving like a mad woman in the HOV lane going over 80 per, and made it with 15 minutes to spare. I could have just gone 70 and been fine.

Morgen was trying to win something in the claw machine on one of his breaks in between games and won a strand of genuine pearls that he was so excited to give to me. He always wins on those things, so lucky.

His next tournament is tomorrow in Roy. Should be fun...

Overnight

Since Max's Lightning team had a tournament early this morning in Ogden (he had to be there to warm up at 7:05 a.m.) his coach told the team that they usually go up and stay overnight at a hotel near the rink. So we went up as well. Max had a great time swimming in the pool with some of his teammates, although the pool was really cold! They spent most of the time in the hot tub though and it was fun to sit in the hot tub and talk with the boys and get to know them a little better, without their helmets on. The hotel was pretty much empty so the boys had the run of the place.

I didn't sleep well and was up at 5. Once I woke Max up and he ate breakfast I ran him over to the rink for his warm up. Then went back to pick up everyone else for the game at 8.

Aquarium

The boys didn't have school today so Markus wanted to go to the Living Planet Aquarium. I have never been there before and I really enjoyed it. Markus loved showing me around since he was just there a few weeks ago for a birthday party.

First Feast

Markus had his first Thanksgiving Feast today in first grade.

He also had SEP conferences right after school.

Max did too, and he is really enjoying 5th grade so far this year. He is in the school play coming up in a couple of weeks and has practices some mornings before school.

Monet's Birthday Dinner

I helped Rocco organize Monet's birthday dinner for her 42nd birthday. He held it at Buca Di Bepo and we all had a pretty good feast. Sheri came down from Idaho and spent the night at our house with her kids and Ash. Shane was flying but then had to return to home due to the fog in California and ended up staying over as well. The kids all had a blast with their cousins.
