Connor's Pre-Op

Connor's Pre-Op visit to the hospital was today. He spent about five hours at the hospital with my mom and sister, Sheri, to have his blood work done before his next surgery at 6 a.m. He's having a surgery called the Fontaine performed on his little heart and I hope you will keep him in your prayers.

Slugfest

Max just struck out at his first up to bat for the Tribe vs. Team Brahma today. They're the team to beat apparently and right now they are winning 5-3. Top of the second, so we will see how it goes. So far Max has been on the bench.

What to Do

What does Markus do when Max is playing in a baseball tournament with five games in three days? He organizes his own games! He and all the little brothers of the boys on the Tribe had their own game in the field behind the park. They played for almost an hour and Markus said afterwards, "That was a lot of fun!!!!"

Tree Fort

At Max's game tonight, there was a trail by the baseball field, so Markus and I went for a long walk while Max was warming up the hour before his game. Markus and I discovered this tree fort and he played in it, on it, and around it for almost the entire time. On the way back to the game we encountered a snake on the trail. Since there was no other path, we waited far enough away until he moved across the trail. I don't know that I've ever seen Markus so scared. I held his hand and told him we would be okay, even though I wasn't sure what I would do if he had turned to chase after us. Luckily, he didn't but went on his way after about ten minutes. And we went to watch the game.

Thoughts of Gratitude

The things I'm most grateful for right now are my fun loving boys, the mountains and sunshine. Rink time is nice too. How about you?

Porter's Party

{Hailey at her brother Porter's birthday party}
{Markus was so excited to go to his friend Porter's birthday party today at the rink}

Accelerate

The accelerated team that Marky is on played two games today and while he was playing Max's team had the snack shack fund raiser. They take turns helping out making fries and hot dogs in exchange for part of the proceeds. It was a good way to accelerate their fund raising efforts for Cooperstown.

Seeing Double

{Max was up to bat with two outs at his Tribe game in S. J. tonight}

{when he hit this huge double and if you look closely, you can see the ball just below the light, it looks like a streak or a missile or something!}

Point

I'm not exactly sure what the point is of Marky's sock filled with bird seed that he made at cub scouts today, but for some reason he thought it was so much fun to play with outside! And since both the boys baseball games were cancelled due to wet field conditions, he had plenty of time to do just that.

Rained Out

Max was next up to bat in the pouring rain when the umpires decided to call his game tonight out in Bluffdale. Seriously, drive all that way, sit in the freezing rain for two hours and he doesn't get up to bat?! Lol I'm thinking regular league baseball is the way to play.

Sister Missionaries

{Primary Missionaries}

The sister missionaries came in to do sharing time for me today in Primary. All the children were excited to get their own little missionary badges, except for one. Ha! Little Gabe didn't want anything to do with it. lol

Cubs

Markus playing second base at tonights' game.
Max is playing on the Cubs this year for Liberty League. He didn't think he would be able to play since he is on a super league team, The Tribe, but there are three other boys from the team that are doing both and so he asked me to sign him up. His coach understands that he may not be there for all the games but he told me that he was just glad to have Max on the team. And Max loves playing on the Cubs, his favorite MLB team. :)

Red Cliffs

There is a beautiful hike, that we did on the way home from St. George that was so worth the time it added to the trip.
