Tagged

My cute friend AP tagged me. The idea is to take pictures around you, just the way you are when you get tagged. No cleaning up-making things look good, you get the picture. I had been reading blogs and I saw the tag from AP. This is how my house looked yesterday afternoon, the boys room is a bit scary but I thought I better include it. Max is usually pretty good about making his bed, but he slept through his alarm today and didn't have time to make it this morning. I was glad that I had just cut some fresh flowers for the table though. :)

I am going to make some bread today after I get back from the competition in Park City and I teach lessons this afternoon. Every time I bake bread it turns out different, I don't know why, it just does.

Today

I have to figure out some things today. That is kind of what I was referring to last night. I have this coaches registration thing that needs to be turned in before I can coach at the competition in Park City tomorrow. It is a new requirement this year that all coaches have a background check as well as liability insurance. I also have to pay the fee to the USFSA and join the local club in order to pay that fee, so it is a nightmare to figure it all out. Anyways, I have most of it done, I am just waiting on my membership number from the local club to go online and pay the national fee. What a headache, and all for the one student that is even doing the competition tomorrow. Argh!

I have Bunko tonight, but I wish that I were going to the Alicia Keyes concert. That would have been so much fun. She is an amazing artist and I love her songs. Oh well, maybe next time.

Happenings

Do you ever feel like so much is going on in your life? I do. I will try to keep it together, keep it real.

Guitar

I finally remembered to take a photo at Morgen's guitar lesson today. His guitar teacher - Aaron, is a great teacher and Morgen is really learning how to play rather quickly. I think he likes it still, which is amazing. :)

He is learning the song 'message in a bottle'.

Later on this evening I took Max and Markus skating and we had a great time. There were quite a few more people tonight than there were last week. I think it is a good way to spend a Tuesday night.

Working for the Weekend

Robyn (my sister-in-law) was here from Texas for her father's funeral. So yesterday she threw her daughter Maddie a birthday party since her birthday is next week and they don't usually get to celebrate it with the cousins.

Nieces: Julianna and Maddie
Max was wearing this crazy wig for the relay races that Robyn was organizing for the kids in Tami's backyard.
They also had sack races as well. Morgen won almost all of them.

Funny Things

Markus is always saying the funniest things. This morning when I woke up he kissed me and he said, "I am just doing my move!" Funny kid.

I made him take a bath this morning as well to get all of the band aid sticky marks off of his knee. He has fallen down on his knees 4 times this week.

Friday Night Lights

Sierra cheering at the Skyline Eagles homecoming game

Some of the cheerleaders were wearing the jerseys of the football player that they are going to the dance with tomorrow night.
Sierra is going with #21

Markus and Tanner
Tanner shared his face paint with the boys

Tanner brought his new puppy "Mocha"

Sierra is so sweet with Max

She is a cute little cheerleader
Lara, Sierra, B

Even though Skyline lost (24-20) it was still a fun game to go to on a Friday night.

911

I realized after I was half way to the boys school that they were supposed to wear red, white and blue today, in honor of patriot day... they both had something blue on. Max doesn't remember anything about 9/11, since he was only 2 but Morgen does. He drew this picture the night after the attacks.

Cheers

This crazy photo makes me laugh. My mom was trying to tell my mother in law about something she read in a magazine to look better in pictures. She said that you are supposed to raise your eyebrows and not smile and tilt your chin. So while Diane and I were making this silly face trying out her advice, we were caught on film. I was going to delete it but then I realized it kind of makes for a good laugh. Cheers.

Is that me?

Okay, fine... I'm doing this for fun.

The Rules: Mention rules on your blog -Tell about 6 quirks of yours (then I was supposed to tag 6 fellow bloggers to do the same, but I think I will skip that part!) :

#1 I have to chew gum after every meal. Sounds like just an excuse to not brush right? No, after every meal - I get a craving for gum (I still brush though!). Usually Extra, but just about any gum will do. Lately it's been 5 Flare.

#2 I talk loudly on the phone. I mean really really loudly as if I'm trying to talk to the person who really is across the country in person, like they can hear me. Also, I am SO slow at texting, it is really ridiculous!

#3 I hate to backtrack or retrace my steps. I know it sounds silly, but I will plan out the most efficient way to get as much laundry as possible from downstairs to the bedroom so I don't have to do it over and over again. Or, if I have to run several errands in one day, I will map out a list of what order I need to go to those places in so that I don't have to backtrack.

#4 I have to finish the book that I am reading before I will start another one, yet I still go to the library every week and check out a new book or two. Why don't I just finish the book I have? I don't know. Maybe because I like the idea of knowing I have something else to read, or maybe it's that I might forget about some other book.

#5 I have a place for every thing. I very, very rarely lose things because everything has a place. I have rubbermaids, baskets, boxes, and all kinds of containers for every possible thing. It is so frustrating for me to misplace something I know I have, so I make a place for everything.

#6 You tell me... What are some things I do that you'd consider a quirk? Don't worry, you won't hurt my feelings. Quirks can be fun and interesting. So... you tell me.

Camera, action...

I am trying to figure out my new camera. It takes a lot longer to post photos out here than it did with my old one and I am not sure why. Probably bigger files I am guessing.

Molly Married?

Molly left on her honeymoon today (so to speak) and I wasn't sure if I should throw rice or dog food or what when she was leaving to go meet her new stud, I mean groom! The breeders came to pick her up today so that she can have puppies. Morgen has been wanting to breed Molly since she was little and we have just been waiting until she was old enough and ready. I am not thinking it is such a great idea, it sounds like a lot of work to me. But Morgen seems to think it is and is excited at the possibility of making some extra cash. So we will have to see how Molly fared with her 'husband'. Markus keeps asking me about Molly's husband, how she is going to see him if she lives at our house still, so maybe saying that Molly was getting married today wasn't the best way to describe the whole situation to him! :)

Block Party

Neighbors: Sharon and her smiley daughter Hannah (Markus just calls her 'smiley baby')
There was a really good turn out for our annual neighborhood block party this year

Markus volunteered to help the magician that came to entertain us

Max's friend Dillon was helping him as well

The bike parade was for all the kids with their bikes decorated

Morgen was not having too much fun, but at least he came out this year (last year he stayed inside!)

Markus, Dillon and Max with the firemen that came to show us their firetruck

The difference between a firetruck and a fire engine: the ladder

The firetruck is the one with the expandable ladder on the top

The boys were pretty cold after being sprayed by the hose but they still stood in line to see the inside of the firetruck as well.
After the magician we all stood around the fire pit talking and laughing. What an enjoyable evening, until Markus had a melt down and I had to take him in to bed. He was crying when I put his p.j.'s on and said that I was ruining his life!

Wisdom

I just finished this book last night. (It is very short so I kind of fit it in even though I am still reading Breaking Dawn.) I liked it and thought Monet was right in saying that it could change the way you think about everything in life. It contains some very good wisdom. Sometimes when the author was talking about the "dream" I kept getting confused, so I would substitute the word thought for dream and then it made a lot more sense to me.

I had a great day today. I took Markus to the park and was absolutely loving the weather. Then after I picked up the boys from school, we went to Baskin-Robbins and they had my favorite kind of ice cream again. Yum! Then Max had scouts and I made spaghetti for dinner. Ben had a meeting and Morgen had scouts later so we went roller blading and Max was so excited that his friend could come. It almost made up for the other day when he didn't get to play with him. It was a beautiful night out on the parkway.

Markus

Markus' first day of Kindergarten

He just walked right in and sat down on the circle rug

He was listening to all of the instructions Mrs. S was giving to her students

So cute, my little baby, all grown up!

I have no idea what to do now. I already went to the grocery store, I guess I can go clean the house, even though it is not dirty. I need to do something to keep from crying all morning!!! ;(

Labor Day

Wish I were there, resting from my labors.

Apple Beer

Morgen is addicted to apple beer. He discovered it at scout camp and has me buy it at costco every week. Last night he had Casey spend the night and his friend Austin came over. They were all playing Killer Bunnies (a game that he loves from Hastur's) and drinking their 'beer'. It was quite a raging party, as you can see from this photo. :)

Today I finally had my last physical therapy appointment. Kim, my physical therapist, sent me home with a band and a list of exercises to do before I swim every time. She is really nice and said that my shoulder was amazingly so much better, she thinks I will be all the way back to normal in no time at all. When I came home Morgen and Casey were all geared up for the dollar movie. We went out there and it was completely sold out for the rest of the day. So we drove to the sugarhouse movies and they were sold out as well. Max was really bummed because he had wanted to play with his friend and didn't get to because of the movie. Then we didn't get to see the movie after all. Morgen was mad and wanted to go to this trampoline place all the way down in Orem. I wasn't going to drive all the way down there, so he was mad. Markus was crying because Morgen took his hat. You get the idea, same stuff, different day.

Markus is so excited about his first day of kindergarten tomorrow. I am sort of melancholy though, my youngest starting kindergarten. It is bittersweet I guess, on the one hand I will have some time to do some things that I would like to do, on the other hand, I will miss my little buddy. I am trying to love what is though... he is so happy and cannot wait, he talks about it constantly, so I guess it will be all right. He went to meet his teacher and have his evaluation on Friday and kept asking me afterwards why he couldn't just stay for school on that day instead of waiting some more.

I will write some more tomorrow after I get home from dropping him off. Right now I am going to give him a bath and read him a story. Ben ended up taking Morgen and Casey back to the movie tonight. Max is doing some homework.
