The blizzard on the east coast turned out to be a good old-fashioned snowstorm with enough snow accumulation to cancel school (less than 2 feet), keep traffic off the roads, and Max flying out there before sunrise (which did happen, especially if you count 5:45). They had checked bags and regular comforts to fall back on: sandwiches, gogurt, apples. Plus a surplus of peanuts, water, and pretzels, in case they get hungry mid-way to Rochester.
