3-3

Yesterday was my yearly checkup. When the jersey was finished and I went to pick it up, Unwritten was on the radio. Who doesn’t need a crescendo from Natasha Bedingfield to close out the year? Things that happened at work today: Induction, the little one head-first her sister was at home, which wasn’t because of the bleeding but was because she had the flu. I checked the fridge for the soft ice pack reserved for this type of injury. I cleared their tools off the table and made space for Mom and baby to lie down for a few minutes. “Nurse, she's peeing all over the place.” So much for skin to skin. How the little one started nursing in the process, I’ll never know, though it is a testament to her clever eye. Later on, while I ran a water birth inflatable tub full of water, the hose ran out of the bathroom, squirted the floor. It was only a matter of time. Things that happened out of work today: I drove Max to hockey, and I ate leftover soup for lunch, I emptied the dishwasher, Markus found his drumsticks to practice for the concert that he will miss Thursday, I bought them Frosties and showed them how to cook other leftovers for dinner, took out the trash when Max finally went to bed.
