One of the boys from the older 14U Outliers team has a cousin who had been on the heart transplant list for a few years. She is 13 and has always wanted to play hockey. An hour before our game versus them started, they received a call that she was getting her new heart. As they played, she was in surgery for the transplant. After the game was over, the uncle of the young girl asked both teams to pose for this photo and he told me, "Hockey is about so much more than hockey. It's about family." Wise words.

Max snap chatted me that he lost his first game this morning 0-1 and tied the one tonight 1-1! He also sent me the snap of his broken stick. All in the game of hockey.
