Ordinary Us


This, too, is the week in which I have stumbled upon the perfect dinner party spread: a quartet of galettes and a pile of forks. Adults deem it fancy; children deem it pie. Either way, bellies fill.

All else: Luring dough on parchment lined pans with a pocketful of tahini sauce. Maldon salt on the crust.


 Three hours of hockey, rosy cheeks, crowd scoring squeals, hands blackened from the puck swing. Sweat in his hair, spitting watermelon seeds into last year’s garden.
