Connor is going home

The doctors finally made a decision today...that Connor could go home for two weeks and then come back and have the next surgery on the 19th of this month. It took all day today to make sure he would be well enough to make the car ride home. They put him in his car seat and monitored him until they were sure it would be okay. Sheri and Shane both were already certified in CPR but they made them both take another class on it today as well. They came back to Lara's and it took 5 of us over 30 minutes to get all of their things loaded into the car. Sheri isn't very happy that he has to have the other surgery so soon. The doctors decided in their meetings yesterday and today, that it needed to be done, but that his lungs weren't ready for it yet, since they were on the ventilator for so long they are too stiff and need to loosen up before they can do the surgery correctly. It is open heart surgery to put a band on his Aorta and Connor will be in the hospital 10 days to recover from it, if everything goes well. Then he will have another one at 2 months that will take 2 1/2 weeks of hospitalization to recover from, they told Sheri today. He has a long road ahead of him but he is going home.
